Beach -> Mountains

Over the past five plus years of being a traveling band, there have been two aspects that are among the best parts of the experience. One is seeing new places for the first time. We try to arrive early enough to soak in the spirit of a new place, from big cities to tiny towns. We have had the great fortune of playing in 14 states and 1 district (of Columbia).

The other side of that, of course, is returning  to places again and again with the goal of seeing old friends and making new friends each time. The run this week brings us from the North Carolina coast and West through the mountains.

Wednesday, June 20 will be our fourth time back to The Whiskey in Wilmington, NC. We always have a blast at this club. The stage lights make it feel like an arena rock concert, and there's something about the Frank Zappa photo above the door that always makes us feel welcome.

We need to pass through the Triangle to make it to the mountains, so we figured why not play a FREE outdoor show in Durham? We'll be spinning a fine set at 6:00PM as a part of the "Music on the Lawn" series at the American Tobacco Campus. Bring a blanket, bring a picnic, bring a friend, bring yourself! We love playing in Durham and we love playing outside, so this should be a real party.

Friday brings us to fresh mountain air of Boone. This is the first town we ventured to outside the confines of the Triangle, way back in 2014. We're thrilled to make our seventh return visit. The fine folks of the high country always treat us like family, and it's no surprise that we keep coming back. Head out to The Local at 10:00PM and don't forget your dancing shoes.

On Saturday we will forge further west through the mountains to Knoxville, Tennessee. It will be our sixth time back in town, and where else but the 'hundreds of whiskeys on the menu Scottish Pub with delicious dinner pies' Boyd's Jig and Reel. This FREE show will feature songs old and new and is guaranteed to entertain.

Stay tuned for pictures/videos from this trip, as well as more show previews and general musings. We'll see you out on the road!
