The State of Things

There is some exciting stuff brewing here at Shambles headquarters, and we can’t wait to share it with all of you. There are three hot opportunities this weekend and only two of them require your physical presence.

On Friday, November 30th at 12:40PM we will be appearing on WUNC’s “The State of Things” with Frank Stasio. This is our second time on the program, and we are thrilled to be able to share some of our newest compositions and some tales from the road on our state’s very own NPR affiliate. The station is 91.5 in the triangle, but anybody can listen online here: WUNC STREAM.

As soon as we finish up at the studio, we will be loading the van and heading west to Charlotte. We return on Friday 11/30 to the Evening Muse, a wonderfully intimate space in the NODA district. Tickets can be found here. Charlotte has been good to us over the years and we always jump at the excuse to get over there.

On Saturday 12/1 we open up December at one of our favorite haunts. Head on over to the Pour House in downtown Raleigh for two special sets. In addition to a Shambles set featuring new songs and old favorites, we will be joined by the one and only Katherine Whalen. She will lead us on vocals and standing drum kit for some fresh takes on classic Squirrel Nut Zippers hits. This is only the second show of its kind, and it serves as a good precursor to our New Year’s Eve show in Carrboro.

We expect dedicated fans to be present for all three performances, but if you can only make one show and the radio show then we’ll understand. Out of town folks have no excuse to miss the radio set! We’ll see you out there!
