The Circus Comes to Carrboro
People of the Triangle and beyond! We have been hard at work for two years with our beakers and test tubes to create our finest work to date. We wanted to celebrate with all of the fanfare that we could muster. Plus, we invited lots of friends to help take it off the ground and into the sky.
Imagine Circus will be on hand to dazzle and inspire
Please join us this Saturday night as we present the new album “Henhouse” to the hometown crowd at the historic Cat’s Cradle in Carrboro. The night starts at 8:00 with a riveting fire breathing and stilt walking performance by Raleigh’s Imagine Circus, with musical accompaniment by Durham’s hottest New Orlean’s style parade band Bulltown Strutters. The first band inside will be Carrboro supergroup Yeaux Katz. The group features Danny Grewen (who will appear with each of the three bands) on trombone, Robert Sledge of Ben Folds Five on bass, Chris Frank on piano and Rob Ladd on the drums, both of the Tony Award winning Red Clay Ramblers.

The next act is Katharine Whalen’s Swedish Wood Patrol. Katharine is a mesmerizing vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, and an essential fixture of the Chapel Hill music scene as co-founder of the Squirrel Nut Zippers. She’ll be swinging and singing her heart out with a fine quartet. We’re honored that she will joining us on this special occasion.

The Shambles set will have surprises at every turn. Expect music new and old and special guests galore. Expect the unexpected. We played eleven shows in two weeks on the road, all to get ready to bring the heat to our hometown friends.
An original Max Huffman Design
We will have the new CD plus limited edition posters designed by local ink-man Max Huffman and printed by Betsy Kahn and the gang at Copycat Print Shop in Wilmington.
